Sugar Skull - Halloween Card

Posted by Susan on Monday, October 26, 2015 in ,
My Silhouette Cameo got quite the workout this Halloween season! Here is another great card made using a die I cut out with my Cameo. I had a lot of fun with this one, although I had to create a larger card than I'm used to (5x7) in order to fit everything in. I just love how spooky this one turned out.

This project is out for publication.

Supplies

Silhouette Cameo
Cardstock - Bazzil
Punch - Martha Stewart
Dylusions Ink Spray - Postbox Red
Stamps -My Minds Eye "Lost and Found" Halloween

Witches Brew - Halloween Card

Posted by Susan on Friday, October 23, 2015 in ,
I found this card by Olena Levchenko on pinterest (see her original here: http://scrappingcottage.blogspot.ca/2014/10/happy-halloween-card.html), but I didn't have the die she used, nor did I have the patience to wait for it to come in. So instead I decided to get creative and try and find enough similar elements in the Silhouette Studio to piece together my own witchy scene. I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Spooktacular Witch - Halloween Card

Posted by Susan on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in ,
The idea for this card came from the fabulous Michelle Zindorf (see her original design here: http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/09/29/a-witchie-night-tutorial-125/).

I didn't make my card in the exact same manner, but the spirit and look are the same. It's a bit labour intensive, and be prepared to get your fingers inky!

I saw this image available in the Silhouette Studio Store and I knew I just had to have it for Halloween Cards. I love how this turned out, and it was really quite simple to make.

I really enjoyed this weeks Inspiration Wednesday with Donna Downey. I went with a different colour palette, but I love the results.

Inspiration Wednesday - She doesn't like to talk

Okay, not my favourite IW week. The concept was okay, and I got to play around with some face stamps, but for me, the result was just okay. I struggle with finding an alternative to the large text stamps Donna uses in her videos, since I don't have a lot of those types of stamps. And I think I like my art a bit busier, if that makes any sense.

That said, here was my interpretation:

Inspiration Wednesday - Bouquet

This weeks IW scared the *bleep* right outta me! I have NEVER tried to paint something that wasn't abstract and here we were challenged to paint flowers. It took me almost 2 full weeks to work up the courage to even attempt this weeks challenge. And finally I just bit the bullet and said, "do it" and if it turns out horribly I just won't post it.

Well......it didn't turn out horribly.

I give Donna Downey props for challenging me to do something I never even thought possible to do!

Inspiration Wednesday - Peace & Love

Posted by Susan on Friday, October 02, 2015 in ,
This was a hot mess turned fabulous! First, I didn't have a circle stencil like Donna Downey used in her video, so I used my Silhouette Cameo and made my own stencil! Definitely something I will be repeating. Then I realized I either used too much gel medium, or I let it sit too long, because my book pages wouldn't come off AT ALL!  So I rubbed it and sprayed it with water to get as much off as I could/wanted to. Then I just used my paints and charcoal pencils and in the end I'm super happy with the way it turned out.

Inspiration Wednesday - Angel

This was a really fun one. I purchased some canvas paper with clocks on it at Michaels and then did my best to expand my creative side with painting, blending, stencils, etc. I love how this turned out.
